Artist Biography


Cecilia Moore lives and works in Ballymun, Dublin.


After graduating in silversmithing at Birmingham Polytechnic, she went on to study sculpture. Her work encompasses metalwork, sculpture,  furniture making, drawing and print. With emphasis on found objects and reusing materials.


She has completed several public art commissions, and has exhibited in numerous group, selected and solo shows.

1995- 97         Fire Station Artists’ Studios, Dublin. 2 year full time course in Sculpture Technical Training for Artists.

1977- 81         Birmingham Polytechnic Diploma Silversmithing.

                     on  Church Bell Tower.   

1999           Dublin Corporation Percent for Art Scheme, Cork Street, Dublin 8. Limestone and bronze  bird bath,

                     in sheltered  housing complex

1997           Dublin Corporation Percent for Art Scheme, Cromcastle Close, Coolock.

                     5 limestone pieces for new housing scheme, working with the community.


Arts Council  Awards:


2009         Research and Development Award for  Create Artist in the Community Project.  With Sillogue ECO and the Rediscovery centre.

1998     Arts Council Travel Award to New York, USA.
